Dumb decisions without fear
A cool realization I had after the weekend - I’m fearful only in theory. You might have heard me say that I’m scared of loads of stuff. And that’s true, I’m no liar. But what I’ve realized lately (when I do more things I’m afraid of) is that when stuff is really going down I have no fear whatsoever. And laughter is what gets me out of the overthinking rut. I might make dumb decisions, but at least without fear. That’s how I’m still alive (which is a legit question I get asked quite frequently, the last time was the previous week so… ).

I’m no gamer. That’s the one skill I’ve skipped in my life. Like some weirdos can’t swim or ride a bike. I can’t play video games. I’ve tried, but I have no muscle memory, I get frustrated and everyone suffers.
BUT.
It has come to my attention that there’s a video game where you can create chaos as a raccoon. It’s like someone created a game FOR ME. I’ll have to break myself and try to play this one. Wish me luck!

Running holds a special place in my heart. I used to hate running. Last year I decided to run a half marathon just because there was a chance to run in the World Athletics Road Running Championship and I thought it would be funny to do just that with world-class athletes (it was). This year I decided I needed to take part in a 100km SUP marathon just because I have a SUP. Also, the thought of a real challenge where I could rely only on myself and the water enhanced me. I just can’t sit still.
Oh, and a kind reminder to my fellow restless athletes: any physical activity should be a celebration of what your body can do. Not a punishment for what you ate.
